NUTRITION PROGRAM IN COMMERCIAL TOWNSHIP
FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

Each day, Monday through Friday, a hot noontime lunch is served at the center. Diabetic meals are also offered. There is no fee for meals served, though donations can be made.

Any county resident 60 years of age or older and their spouse may participate. Those who wish to participate will need to call two days in advance so that a meal can ordered.

Transportation is available, if needed, by calling CATS (Cumberland Area Transit Systems) at (856) 691-7799. For more information please contact Cindy Tawes, Director, at (856) 785-9817.

BAYSHORE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

The Bayshore Community Health Center has expanded to the Louse E. Moore Senior Center. The Center will provide comprehensive primary medical care. Services include:

• Well child and adult visits
• Immunizations
• Routine visits and physicals
• Women’s Health (PAP tests, family planning)
• Sick care including acute and episodic illness and
primary care for chronic conditions
• Specialized services (podiatry, cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious disease) by referral
• FREE blood pressure checks
• Lowest-cost federal pharmacy program
• All health plans accepted
• Assistance with enrollment in public health insurance, including Medicaid and NJ Family Care
• Bilingual Staff/ Se habla Espanol
• Walk-ins welcome


The Health Center will be open Monday and Wednesdays from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., with plans to expand hours as needed. For more information or to make an appointment please call the Bridgeton office at (856) 451-4700.

ACTIVITIES AND OTHER PROGRAMS

The Senior Center offers may other wonderful activities for local Senior Citizens.

• Line Dancing with Dawn Sharp
• Craft Days
• Monthly Birthday Celebrations
• Dances with live music from “The Mountain Music Boys”
(they make monthly appearances also.)
• Many County medical screening such as:

Monthly Blood Pressure Readings
Vision Screenings
Nutrition Suggestions
Podiatric Services with Ronda M. Hindermyer

• Active Pinochle group that meets three times a week.
• New friendships and daily fellowship.

New ideas and activities are always in the works. Come on out and enjoy all the Senior Center has to offer.

COMMERCIAL TOWNSHIP COMMODITIES FOOD PANTRY

Commodities are provided through the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and The Emergency Food Assistance Program.

Distribution to qualified families will be the 4th Saturday of each month from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Families can qualify by income, New Jersey State assistance programs, unemployment assistance and SSI. Please bring proof of residence and proof of assistance or income.
